Oh yes, the countdown to October 26th and Robyn's first new album in 8 years continues with the release of another song, Honey. Whereas the first one, Missing U, is typically Robyn, sounding like any of the songs off Body Talk, Honey is a little softer, mellower, but still, Oh so good! Check it out...
Moves - Olly Murs, Snoop Dogg
One of my favorite new tunes of the week is this very likable track from British recording artist Olly Murs, featuring none other than Snoop Dogg. Check out Moves...

Two-time Grammy award-nominated singer Lauren Daigle's got a new song and it is da bomb! Reminiscent of the sounds of gospel, Daigle's beautiful voice gives me a nice feeling inside when I take a listen. You should too! Here's Look Up Child...
I got an awesome text last night about my music playlist for our little road trip to Hersheypark. My friend Michael told me that he downloaded The Vamps, a band I've been talking about for awhile now and included on my set. Here's the song that started it all for me, and I never tire of listening to it. Check out Middle of the Night...
I've been digging on singer Maty Noyes for some time now, and I am loving her newer stuff. Oh, people need to hear this one. Couldn't wait any longer for a video to come out, but please please check out this audio of New Friends. Hella good!
At first, I didn't think there would be enough new songs worthy of a spotlight here to make five, but as I re-listened to this week's new music tracks I found that there were, only not my usual dance fare. Check out this week's new music tracks...
Zero - Imagine Dragons
Rockers Imagine Dragons have released a very likable song from the closing credits of the upcoming Disney film Ralph Breaks the Internet. Check out the cool lyric video for Zero...
Lento - Rudy Mancuso
Though I've never heard of actor, musician and Internet personality Rudy Mancuso, he's apparently pretty popular. The 26 year-old has a new song and video out that's pretty smooth, featuring lento, or slow, Latin/Brazilian sounds, and the video is pretty entertaining, too! Check out Lento...
Imaginary Friend - MO
I am loving everything Danish singer/songwriter MO does, and this one's a little more sultry than what she usually puts out, but it's really good, nonetheless. Check out Imaginary Friend...

It's been a really long time since I've posted these ladies on here, but let's just say someone's put them in my ears recently and so yeah. Here's Spice Up Your Life...
French duo Ofenbach has a fantastic song that you should really check out. It's got that sort of sound that just gets you going and stays in your head long after a listen. Check out the thumpingly catchy melodies of Paradise...
I'm a little late today, but you know what they say... Had a lot of time in my car the past 24 hours and I listened to a lot of mah divas. Here's Kylie with a classic....
How do you like that? A country song on John's World! Anyway, I featured this Ryan Riback remix of country newcomer Jordan Davis' debut single and it's become a regular in my rotation ever since. Here's Singles You Up...
Here's a song that's grown on me more and more everyday ever since I first highlighted it on New Music Fridays a couple of weeks ago. From the sounds of this easy-to-like R&B jam by Zhavia, it's clear that the singer will be on my radar for some time to come. Check out the wonderful Deep Down...
David Guetta is known for his work with the hottest acts in the music scene throughout his career, and he does it again on a hot new track with the hot and sexy Bebe Rexha and celebrated reggaeton maestro J.Balvin. Check out a preview snippet of Say My Name...

Burnout - Martin Garrix, Justin Mylo, Dewain Whitmore
I'm going to finish off my little impromptu week of 80's R&B with Teena Marie, who was a longtime collaborator and friend of one Rick James. I had a big wow moment earlier in the week when this one came on my Spotify and I knew I wanted to post if for any of you who remember this, by far the singer's biggest hit. So here's Lovergirl...
It's been a kind of R&B-ish week here on John's Music World, and so our flashback continues that theme. I believe this is the first time ever I am posting a song by Kool & The Gang, a band I've always loved, and this one's my favorite! Here's Get Down On It...
I said the other day when I posted Donna Summer's Love to Love You Baby that I might just post another or two of her songs in the coming days. Well, here's one I never thought I'd post, but I personally love it so much I just want to share it. Lucky was a non-single included on Donna's monumental Bad Girls album of 1979 and it dispels any sort of claim that disco music was mindless. This song combines a masterfully orchestrated dance track with some pretty sad lyrics...a lonely, yet naive girl who's looking for love, but only seems to find the wrong kinds of love. Check out the lyrics below as you crank up the volume on this one, and if you don't like it then there's something seriously wrong with you! (I'm just kidding, lol...but it is soooo good!). Here's Lucky...
I've been listening to some 80's R&B lately and when I came across this classic funky jam all the way back from 1982. It's a perfect song for Hump Day and I hope you'll enjoy. Here's Let It Whip...
It was just recently that I had to be reminded about today. Not that I forgot, mind you, but I just met a person for whom this day, 17 years ago now, holds a special place in his soul. Listening to him talk about it reminded me of how I felt that day, and how passionate I was about it in the years that followed. But as with most things, with time the memories, and the rawness, faded, and this is something that I need to keep alive in my mind somehow, some way. Never forget!
The kids in my school are among the first generations of people to not have even been born when it happened and I need to remind them today, to talk about it, to make them know what happened on that terrible day in my city. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to talk about it from my own point of view. I still remember that day vividly, where I was when it all unfolded, how I personally dealt with the aftermath. So I take a moment here to remember and never forget the horrible events of September 11th, 2001 with a song...
Here are a few pieces I've written about the day over the years. I found that reading them really brought it back to life for me and I hope it will for you too. Please check out one or two of them:
Anyone who knows me personally from social media would most definitely have guessed that they'd be hearing a Donna Summer song in today's Song of the Day. That's because my mom and I went into New York City yesterday to see Summer: The Musical. Though the show itself left something to be desired, the music was what made it all worthwhile.
I was always a big fan of Donna Summer and followed her throughout the years and I especially loved her music after her reluctant "Queen of Disco" period. Alas, without the disco, though, she might never have made it as far as she did. You may very well see more Donna Summer here this week, but for today here's the song that figured prominently in the musical and it was the one that got it all started for her. Check out a vintage performance of the sexy Love to Love You Baby...
Out of the many new songs released this week, I only bookmarked eight, probably the lowest ever. No big names, not a lot of dance stuff, not much at all. In fact as I went through the listing of 100+ tracks, I was hitting the next button very quickly and often. That being said, only two of the eight new music tunes released this week are truly worthy of a spotlight, so for what it's worth, check em out...
Drunk and I Miss You - KIDDO, Decco
One of the better tunes I bookmarked this week is this pop/rockish song that's pretty catchy and has a nice groove, as well. Check out Drunk and I Miss You...
Way Down - MO
I've loved virtually everything Danish singer MO has put out and this one is fast and very funky. Check out Way Out...
Though I've only spotlighted two songs this week, there are others, of course, that are worthy of attention. Here are this week's honorable mentions..
Just Got Paid - Segala, Ella Eyre, Meghan Trainor, French Montana
Here's a hot new dance tune from Calvin Harris and Sam Smith that I previewed here just a couple of weeks ago. The two have since released a video and we've got it right here. Check out Promises...
Picking up where I left off last night on John's World, today is the start of another school year, my 16th, and I am excited for what the future will bring. Listening to the remix of The Knocks' Sunshine helps me see the sunshine ahead, and hopefully after a listen you will too! Here's to more times like these...
Good morning and Happy Labor Day. We celebrate the last unofficial day of summer with the first single off of Troye Sivan's sophomore album, Bloom, which was released this past Friday. Here's My My My...
Louis the Child's latest is a tune I highlighted a couple of weeks ago and I am loving it more now than ever. It's a very toe-tapping, easy breezy, funky song that you might want to put on repeat...it's that good! Here's Dear Sense...
The biggest news in new music this week is the release of Troye Sivan's highly anticipated sophomore album, Bloom. I first discovered Sivan like many others, with the fantastic Wild, from his debut Blue Neighborhood. Though I may do a review of the record, time permitting, Billboard has a great take on it right here. I've listened to it a couple of times already and LOVE! In the meantime, here are four new tunes to whet your appetites this week...
Spice - Michael Brun, Kah-Lo
Now here's a bass-y, bouncy, groove-alicious nugget from Haitian producer Michael Brun, featuring the hypnotic vocals of Nigerian singer Kah-Lo. Check out Spice...
Deep Down - Zhavia Ward
Sadly, I've never heard of Zhavia Ward before, but with this soulful, rich jam I'm hearing shades of Lauryn Hill, a lil bit of Amy Winehouse and everything in between. Love! Check out Deep Down...
Body Talks - The Struts, Kesha
Kesha joins British band The Struts for a reworking of their song Body Talks and the result is some good old fashioned rock n roll. Check it out...
Singles You Up - Jordan Davis, Ryan Riback
Louisiana country singer Jordan Davis has had his debut song given a remix by Ryan Riback and the results are surprisingly good. Check out Singles You Up...
As always, there are even more nice new tunes to check out. Here are this week's honorable mentions...
