New Music Fridays, September 7th, 2018 - A Slow Week...

Out of the many new songs released this week, I only bookmarked eight, probably the lowest ever.  No big names, not a lot of dance stuff, not much at all.  In fact as I went through the listing of 100+ tracks, I was hitting the next button very quickly and often.  That being said, only two of the eight new music tunes released this week are truly worthy of a spotlight, so for what it's worth, check em out...

One of the better tunes I bookmarked this week is this pop/rockish song that's pretty catchy and has a nice groove, as well.  Check out Drunk and I Miss You...

I've loved virtually everything Danish singer MO has put out and this one is fast and very funky.  Check out Way Out...

My girl Kiiara's got a brand new single out, and it's a perfect tune for Hump Day.  Fresh off her massive success with Gold comes this sexy, sultry jam with (almost) the same equally fast-paced vocal as its predecessor, and her voice is, well, sooo highly unique.  Check out Whippin'....  

Song of the Day - Gold - Kiiara

I mentioned yesterday that I will be checking out The Chainsmokers when they come to town on Friday, and they're not the only act I'm excited about seeing.  Young Illinoisan singer/songwriter Kiiara will be one of the opening acts to the show, and although she's got some good stuff out there, this is the song of hers you might just know.  I've listened to it a million times and I still can't tell you what the heck she's saying, but it's pretty damned hypnotic nonetheless.  Check out Gold...

I remember hearing this song in the car with my pal Eddie over the summer and I was jamming out while he was saying..I don't get it!  I don't have any idea what the hell she's saying!  Lol, I got that.  I really don't either, but to me it doesn't matter. This song is so unique and fast and funky and cool that I don't really have to know what she's saying for me to like it.  

Young Kiiara is just 21 years old and she just put out her debut album, Low Kii Savage, on Atlantic Records in March.  This, the debut single, reached all the way to the #13 spot.  Not bad, huh?  Anyway, here are the lyrics that probably confuse you when you're listening...

Song of the Day - Gold - Kiiara

Today's Song of the Day is a newly discovered track by Illinois-based singer Kiiara, and it is one unique track.  Gold, Kiiara's first single off of her debut EP, Low Kii Savage, has been described as an electrifying mix of Scandanavian electropop and Atlanta trap.  Sounds pretty exotic, huh? I don't even know if I'd recognize either of those two genres of music if I heard them, but all I know is that this song has a very unique, trippy, atmospheric sound that definitely qualifies as ear candy.  So if you like to experiment your earbuds with new, cool sounds, then check out Gold right here...
