Wolves - Selena Gomez, with Marshmello
Our first song this week comes from Selena Gomez, in collaboration with DJ Marshmello. The track has got a melancholic feel to it, with themes of lost love, though the chorus is musically uplifting. Billboard reports that Gomez' fans might have been expecting this sort of tune after the star revealed that she is battling the disease lupus, which means wolf in Spanish. Check out Wolves...
Heat - Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Clarkson has still got it! Her latest release from her freshly minted Meaning of Life album is an energizing blast of soul. Check out the official audio of Heat...
When I Was Young - MO
Okay, so here's one that I had a hard time finding out much about, but it is hella good and hella catchy. It's got a nice, vintage Euro feel to it, though several Internet searches turned up that the tune originates in India. Who knows? I still love it! Check out When I Was Young...

Por Favor - Pitbull, with Fifth Harmony
There was a time when it seemed as if Pitbull had been putting out hits constantly, but really I haven't heard anything from him in awhile, until now. This week the Miami-based rapper debuted a rhythmic Spanish-English jam with the ladies of Fifth Harmony. Check it out right here...
One More Light (Chester Forever Remix) - Linkin Park, Steve Aoki

Up All Night - Beck
Oh man, I used to love Beck. I absolutely wore out his 1996 record Odelay, but he completely fell off my radar since then. When I saw this tune listed on Spotify's New Music Fridays, I was intrigued that he was still making music and checked it out. Bottom line...he's still got it. This one's catchy and pleasant and he just might make me a fan again. Check out Up All Night...
Sometimes, like this week, it's difficult to come up with only five new songs to whet your appetites, so in addition to these great tracks, here are some other notable new releases:
Since yesterday's post was the first Kelly Clarkson tune in a long, long time, I figured I'd post another for Flashback Friday. One of my all time favorite Kelly songs...so good!
God, it's been so long since I've posted anything by Kelly Clarkson! This is why I love music so, though. You see, this has been a really tough week here in these parts. My furnace went kaput on Saturday and I was without heat in my house for a full four days. Ugh, right? Yeah, well the ordeal isn't over as there may be more to come from that situation (Oh, I am so due for a John's World post!).
Anyway, back to loving music. For the past few days, I've found plenty of songs to go with this winter lament, and yesterday I was finally able to post a song that I was really happy to post...Glen Frey's The Heat Is On. Well, in the two days since I've gotten heat, things have not looked much better/ My pants ripped in class today (a bad one!) and I also am the proud owner of a cracked windshield (Thank you Mr. Truck, for spilling all of those rocks onto Sunrise Highway!).
So now I found another song to fit my life, and it's Kelly's Stronger. The way I look at it is, yeah, so I've had a few problems, major ones, but I will get through them and come out for the better in the end. If I don't look at it that way, then really, what's the sense? Thanks Kelly! Enjoy Stronger...
Yup, Kelly Clarkson is back with a brand new song, her first (other than Christmas) since 2012's Stronger, and it's just what the doctor ordered. Heartbeat Song is typical Kelly Clarkson, pop rock that's a little anthemic, with melodies and a catchy hook that's pretty darned memorable. Take a listen...
