Our first song this week comes from Selena Gomez, in collaboration with DJ Marshmello.  The track has got a melancholic feel to it, with themes of lost love, though the chorus is musically uplifting.  Billboard reports that Gomez' fans might have been expecting this sort of tune after the star revealed that she is battling the disease lupus, which means wolf in Spanish.  Check out Wolves...

I mentioned this song the other night, as it samples Kaoma's Lambada, but in such a unique and steamy way.  Back in 2011, when J-Lo's On the Floor came out, it was the beginning of the singer's renaissance after a long hiatus from the music scene.  With a little help from at that time one of the hottest new artists of the day, a rapper by the name of Pitbull, this one soared to the top and smoked up dance floors everywhere.  It's the kind of song that still gets em' going and is a perfect summer jam for the day...

Song of the Day - Time of Our Lives - Pitbull & Ne Yo

It's been a long time since I'd kinda gotten over Pitbull.  During his time of high popularity, mostly between the years 2009 and 2013, Pitbull was seemingly everywhere, and his songs were always fun...but after awhile to me, he got stale.  His songs all started to sound the same, and I found myself suddenly not listening to him much anymore.  Well, this one, from his 2014 Globalization album changed all that.  Time of Our Lives breaks outta Pit's stale mold to bring some fresh, feel good beats, and with a little help from R&B crooner Ne Yo, it's definitely a winner.  The song was released as a single last November and currently sits within iTunes Top Ten Most Downloaded Songs, so if you don't know it you should definitely check it out...
