Today's song goes out to all of my wonderful friends who've have been and continue to be people upon whom I can lean. You all know that the feeling is mutual and if you're ever in need of someone to lean on, I'm here. I love you all!
Sometimes in our lives we all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow
Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on
Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you won't let show
You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'll understand
We all need somebody to lean on
Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on
You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'll understand
We all need somebody to lean on
If there is a load you have to bear
That you can't carry
I'm right up the road
I'll share your load
If you just call me (call me)
If you need a friend (call me) call me uh huh(call me) if you need a friend (call me)
If you ever need a friend (call me)
Call me (call me) call me (call me) call me
(Call me) call me (call me) if you need a friend
(Call me) call me (call me) call me (call me) call me (call me) call me (call me)
This third collaboration between master deejay/producers David Guetta and MORTEN is being described as the newest version and the future of house music. Check out Make It To Heaven...
Here's a sweet little jam by deejay/producer Gryffin, featuring the vocals of folk artist Noah Kahan and a little production help from Seven Lions. Cool song! Here's I Need Your Love...
I think we can all say now that Lizzo is a bona fide star! With a hot, if not a little girly, new collaboration with Ariana Grande, I can't hold off waiting for a video to post. Here's the catchalicious Good As Hell...
And just like that...summer's over! Well, not technically, but maybe it's just better to say that summer vacation is over. Yes, folks, it's back to school time for me and time to get back to life again. I know you're all weeping for me right now, and I don't blame you, lol. Anyway, though I'm not too motivated just yet, I found this song by LA-based indie trio Wild called Here We Go, and I think it fits. Check it out, and for all of my teacher friends going back to school today, good luck!
I said the other day when I posted Donna Summer's Love to Love You Baby that I might just post another or two of her songs in the coming days. Well, here's one I never thought I'd post, but I personally love it so much I just want to share it. Lucky was a non-single included on Donna's monumental Bad Girls album of 1979 and it dispels any sort of claim that disco music was mindless. This song combines a masterfully orchestrated dance track with some pretty sad lyrics...a lonely, yet naive girl who's looking for love, but only seems to find the wrong kinds of love. Check out the lyrics below as you crank up the volume on this one, and if you don't like it then there's something seriously wrong with you! (I'm just kidding, lol...but it is soooo good!). Here's Lucky...
When I first saw that David Guetta was working with Anne-Marie, I got really excited. Part of his thing over the years has been working with funky and powerful divas and she is a relatively new singer who fits that bill. Though this one is more mid-tempo than what I expected, it's got a pop sensibility about it that surely makes it worth listening to. Check out Don't Leave Me Alone...
Back in 2014, Avicii released a two-track EP called The Days/The Nights, and this first of two songs is one of my favorite Avicii tunes ever. It features British singer Robbie Williams on vocals and the arrangement is splendid, with acoustic guitars and a melancholic synth rhythm to accompany the verses and a crescendo at the chorus. Great song! Check out The Days...
Yellow Claw's Both of Us is the kind of song that slowly creeps into your head more and more every time you hear it. To prove my point, I added this one to my Current list way back in November and just the other day I screenshooted the tune on Spotify, thinking ooh, this would make a great Song of the Day. The song has got a nice makeu[p for a dance track, with sweet vocals for the verses and some killer musical crescendo as the chorus. Check out Both of Us...
Big Jet Plane was originally a song by Australian singer/songwriter Angus Stone, and it was released way back in 2010. At the time it was a huge smash in Australia and remixes of the melancholy tune brought it to newer audiences across Europe in the immediate years thereafter. The Aussie classic has been remixed once again by the duo of Alok and Mathieu Kloss and I am loving it's chill and dancey vibes. Check out Big Jet Plane...
After a long absence from the music scene, it looks like Swedish deejay/producer is back on track with some brand new music. This one I featured on New Music Fridays back in early August and now, with a few weeks of sitting in my folder of current music, it's been growing on me more and more, especially with singer Rita Ora's powerful pipes guiding the song along. Check out Lonely Together...
