The Best Super Bowl Halftime Show...Ever!

If you do a search on the Internet for Super Bowl Halftime Show, you will find a lot of opinions on which ones were the best and which were the worst, and depending on the person, you may see the same performances on either list.  That's not surprising, as music is one of the most subjective mediums out there, ans surprisingly to me, such is the case with Madonna's turn at the big stage, circa 2012.

Of course, I'm prejudiced in this matter, but as objectively as I can be I believe Madonna set a new bar when it comes to Halftime Show performances, and so far neither Beyoncé nor Bruno Mars has surpassed that mark.  I doubt Katy Perry will either.  What made the show so good was that the performance was entirely and decidedly Madonna, carefully planned and carefully choreographed, featuring guest stars LMFAO, Cee Lo Green, and Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., who both had parts on the MDNA lead single, Gimme All Your Luvin'.

For any of you Ma dona fans out there, I'm sure you will agree that the job she did on this one was great.  Madge has a huge catalog of tunes to pick from and with the exception of the obligatory plug on the new song, the rest she chose were very appropriate for such a stage with Vogue, Music, Like a Prayer and snippets of Open Your Heart and Express Yourself and she did it flawlessly.

Madonna's Super Bowl Halftime Show performance garnered more viewers than the game itself, breaking records for the most watched ever at 114 million.  Twitter was abuzz during the performance, with a whopping 10,245 tweets per second, another record, and the performance was the most searched for item on Google during the show.  Yeah, Madonna's got star power, but for good reason.

So if you weren't one of the 114 million who witnessed the event, here's your chance, and if you don't agree with me, that's okay.  But no matter what anybody says, it was THE best Halftime Show ever!
