Hump Day Song of the Day - Ten Feet Tall - Afrojack, Wrabel

Image result for ten feet tall afrojack

A few years back, in 2013, Dutch deejay/producer Afrojack put out an epic album of dance gems of all sorts which I played out pretty much all that year and beyond.  One of my favorite tracks off of Forget the World was his remix of a beautiful tune by LA-based  singer/songwriter Wrabel.  Check out the beautiful Ten Feet Tall...

Hump Day Song of the Day - Dirty Sexy Money - David Guetta & Afrojack, with Charli XCX and French Montana

61kkzspblul-_ss500

Back in early November, I highlighted a new collaboration with legendary deejay/producers David Guetta and Afrojack called Dirty Sexy Money.  Many of the reviews I had seen were somewhat unfavorable, but I likened it to something out of Guetta's uber-successful past, big on vocals and big on sound.  I, for one, love Dirty Sexy Money (even though I hate the title!).  Check out the brand new video...

New Music Fridays, November 3rd, 2017 - The Week's Hottest New Tracks

Hello and welcome to John's Music World's New Music Fridays.  As you all know, my favorite genre of music, hands down, is dance music and there's a lot of new beats that hit the airwaves this week.  Check out the week's hottest new tracks...

Riding Shotgun - Kygo, feat. Oliver Nelson & Bonnie Mckee

Norwegian deejay/producer has just released his newest album, Kids In Love, and just ahead of it came this sweet tune that is very radio friendly.  Check out Riding Shotgun...

Dirty Sexy Money - David Guetta & Afrojack, featuring Charli XCX and French Montana

Superstar deejay/producer David Guetta is back with a really nice tune that hearkens back to some of the great tracks from his One Love and Nothing But the Beat records.  This time, Guetta is helped out by fellow producer Afrojack (...and some uncredited production from Skrillex.) and vocalists Charli XCX and French Montana, and the result is some good old-fashioned dance floor filler.  Check out Dirty Sexy Money...

Told You So - Miguel

R&B singer Miguel has been busy of late, dropping songs from his forthcoming album War & Leisure, and this, his latest, is a funky jam that brings to mind such funk music greats as Prince and Bruno Mars.  Check out the delightful Told You So...

raingurl - yaeji

I was instantly mesmerized by the hypnotic house beats of this late night jam.  The track is by Brooklyn-based singer yaeji, who Pitchfork calls "House Music's Most Exciting New Voice." Check out raingurl and find out why...

Something Bout Our Love - JONES

British singer/songwriter JONES has released one of my favorite tunes of the week.  Something Bout Our Love is a radio friendly tune that's very, very catchy.  Check it out...

Instruction - Jax Jones, feat. Demi Lovato, Stefflon Don, Mr. Eazi

This week has seen some really good dance music and this one is funky all the way through.  With big beats, sexy vocals and even a little bit of island flavor, this one's definitely a winner!  Check out Instruction...

So yeah, it's been a great week for new music with these selections, but there's more.  Check out these honorable mentions and as always, stay tuned for next week's New Music Fridays.

You and Me - Shallou
Santa's Coming for Us - Sia
Soon - Emeli Sandé, David East

I don't know why I haven't featured this one earlier.  Not only is it a very noteworthy collaboration between two superstar deejay/producers, but it's a truly great song, with nice beats, great vocals, and a killer hook.  Check out Another Life...

Song of the Day - As Your Friend - Afrojack, featuring Chris Brown

Here's another stellar track from Afrojack's Forget the World album.  As Your Friend features the vocals of Chris Brown, whose voice just blends well with dance floor jams.  Check it out and then go out and have a great day...

Song of the Day - The Spark - Afrojack, featuring Spree Wilson

One of the negatives about having your music all in one place on your iPod is that sometimes you forget what music you've got in there.  Case in point: Afrojack's Forget the World album.  I downloaded it months ago, listened to it often for a little while, but then it got buried way down in my Currents folder by newer music and I forgot all about it.  Well, luckily for me, I delved deep into that folder the past couple of days and got to listen all the way through this jam-packed album of danceable and chill tunes.  The record is really quite good if you like nicely produced, dance-themed music with all sorts of nice guest vocalists and such.

One of my favorite tunes features singer Spree Wilson on The Spark.  I tell you, this one would fit as well on the radio as it does on the dance floor.  You should definitely give this one a listen!

Song of the Day - Hey Mama - David Guetta, featuring Nikki Minaj, Afrojack

Good morning and Happy Sunday!  Here's the best thing I've heard from David Guetta in a long, long time.  It's a fast, frenzied and catchy jam featuring vocals from Nicki Minaj, who has collaborated with Guetta before on the classics Where Them Girls At and Turn Me On, and singer Bebe Rexha and contributions from Dutch deejay/producer Afrojack.  Check out Hey Mama...
