Song of the Day - Chris Brownin' - Hide

Today's song is probably one of the most obscure tunes I've ever posted.  There's really not much to find on the Internet about it, except for several YouTube videos posted by various users.  Heck, I couldn't even find a picture for the cover!  Despite the strange name for the song, it has such a cool, mellow vibe that definitely makes you feel like summer, and now that it's on the horizon, why not take a listen to the sweet summer sounds of Chris Brownin'...

Song of the Day - Rockabye - Clean Bandit, with Anne Marie & Sean Paul

I think I have a new favorite song!  Heard this one over the weekend and found out that Brit group Clean Bandit is not a one hit wonder.  You should know them from their 2014 mega-smash Rather Be, and after learning this one I am definitely going to check out some of their other stuff.  Rockabye is a fast-mover with a strong lead vocal and a hint of island sounds featuring reggae superstar Sean Paul.  This one is definitely a winner!

We have a late entry song today, and with good reason.  You see, I've been away for a few days...Philadelphia, and I heard this hot throwback at the popular Woody's.  Even the kiddies were jamming!

Song of the Day - Love - Lana Del Rey

I've never been a huge Lana Del Rey fan, but today's post is surely meant to be for a couple of reasons.  I seriously contemplated, then forgot, to post her Off to the Races, yesterday because I heard it in the background of one of those silly videos you see on Facebook.  It's one of three songs of hers I absolutely love (the others being Summertime Sadness and West Coast).  Then, I see that she's released a brand new song, Love, and with a new video to boot!  

I liked Love upon the very first listen.  It's a typical, Lana Del Rey style, slow and full of passion. The slow, steady rhythms remind me of a 50's ballad, and the video has sort of a vintage feel to it, as well, even though it's set in space.  Ha ha, yeah!  I just may have to download this one!  Check out Love...  

Song of the Day - Too Soon - Vanic, featuring Maty Noyes

Here's a recent Spotify discovery from deejay/producer Vanic, with vocals from singer Maty Noyes. I love Noyes' voice on Kygo's Stay, and that's what made me take a listen and I'm glad I did.  Too Soon is a mid-tempo dance gem that's got some sweet beats and of course even sweeter vocals.  Check it out...

Canadian artist Jonathan Roy rocks!  Son of famed Montreal Canadiens' goaltender Patrick Roy, Jonathan just released his debut album, Mr. Optimist Blues, and this, its first single is one power ballad that again...rocks!  Couple that with this steamy video and you've got one hell of a combination that should get him the airplay he deserves for this song. Gaga killed it last night!  In the midst of what turned out to be a very exciting football game, one Ms. Lady Gaga took center stage to dazzle the masses in one hell of a Super Bowl Halftime Show that has got to be one of the best ever.  Looking, and sounding, flawless, Gaga began with an nice homage to this great country of ours and followed suit with a thirteen-plus minute set full of her greatest hits, along with some aerial stunt work, plenty of dancers and lots and lots of drones in the resounding climactic finale of this, one of her best tunes...

It's Super Bowl Sunday, and for many of us who couldn't really care less about the game itself, at least we've got the Halftime Show.  Oh yes, halftime! (And the commercials, of course!)  In the past few years, the NFL has moved towards more the big name dance/pop entertainers, musical icons of our time, to light u the stage.  Acts like Prince, Beyoncé, Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Katy Perry, and others have wowed audiences worldwide with spectacular mini-concerts. Well this year it's Lady Gaga who'll be getting her turn at one of the most watched musical events of the year and I can't wait to see how she does.  In the meantime, here's one of her earliest, and funkiest, hits.  No, can't read my Poker Face...

Song of the Day - Don't Let Me Down - The Chainsmokers, featuring Daya

Two days ago I scored tickets to see The Chainsmokers on their Memories Tour 2017 and I couldn't be more excited.  They have yet to create a tune that I haven't loved and I believe that between now and June 9th, when I see them at Forest Hills Stadium in New York, there'll be a whole new album.
