Many of you may not know this tune, from Janet's 1997 album, The Velvet Rope. It's a funky little ditty all about freedom, freedom to love whomever you love. Like many other strong female recording artists, Miss Janet has long been an advocate of the LGBT community and she even won a GLAAD Media Award for this album and the supportive tone it takes of the community. In a Pride Month in which the struggle we still face has tragically given us the awful truth that we still have a long way to go, voices of support from everywhere are always welcome.
