Summer Jams Song of the Day - Feel It - The Tamperer, featuring Maya

What's she gonna look like with a chimney on her?

Here's an old favorite from 1998.  The tune cleverly uses the familiar music from the Jacksons' classic Can You Feel It and the nonsensical words sung by sultry-voiced Maya are oh so fun!

Summer Jams Song of the Day - It Just Won't Do - Tim Deluxe, featuring Sam Obernik

Well there's very little to be learned about today's summer jam.  Other than the lyrics and the video, there seems to be relatively nothing on Tim Deluxe, Sam Obernik or the song itself.  All I know is that it appeared on a club mix CD that I bought somewhere in the 2000's and I love it.  From the fast-paced rumba track to the nasally-voiced vocals, this one's both unique and fun.  Check out It Just Won't Do...

Flashback Friday Song of the Day - Angel - Shaggy, featuring Rayvon

Back in the year 2001, Jamaican reggae artist Shaggy was smoking hot with his album Hot Shot, which produced the monster hits It Wasn't Me, Luv Me, Luv Me and this one, a #1 feel-good tune that's as sweet as it is catchy.  Happy Friday y'all...enjoy!

Summer Jams Song of the Day - Murder, She Wrote - Chaka Demus & Pliers

Oh man, I hope you're reliving these memories as fondly as I am.  A couple of weeks ago, when I was doing 90's summer jams, I couldn't help but marvel at all of the great music that came out of that decade and here we are, four days into celebrating reggae jams and all of the ones I've shared have come out of the 90's, too.  Here's a classic from Jamaican duo Chaka Demus and Pliers, with a fast-paced down-home fun reggae jam that ya just can't help but move to.  Check out Murder, She Wrote...

Summer Jams Song of the Day - Rich Girl - Louchie Lou & Michie One

Some of you may remember Gwen Stefani's version of this classic reggae jam.  To many, nothing's ever as good as the original, and that is so the case with this one.  The tune, by Brit one hit wonders Louchie Lou and Michie One, takes the melody from Fiddler On the Roof's If I Were a Rich Man and gives it both a modern, feminine twist as well as some hypnotic reggae beats.  This one always got them going on the dance floor back in the day when I was a deejay.  By the way, what the heck is a ragamuffin anyway????
