Song of the Day - Tom Sawyer - Rush

The year 2020 has already seen its share of deaths, and we added another one yesterday as Rush drummer Neil Peart lost a year's long battle with brain cancer yesterday.  I was a big Rush fan back in the days of their classic Moving Pictures album in 1980, and this song, oh this one, was a song to hear in headphones with the volume turned all the way up.  Classic!  Here's Tom Sawyer...

Song of the Day - We Will Rock You/ We Are the Champions (Live Aid) - Queen

Well, I finally got to catch at least a little bit of Bohemian Rhapsody the other night at my mom's, most notably the end footage of the band's legendary performance at Live Aid back in 85.  It's funny, but theirs (and Madonna's) performances are the only two that I clearly remember from that day.  Of course when I got home from dinner I had to check out the real thing once again...it's been, ugh, 30 years plus.  Such a great performance!  Magical!  Relive it here...

Flashback Friday Song of the Day - Barracuda - Heart

I have no idea why, but I've had this tune in my head for the last 24 hours.  Maybe because it reminds me of my trip to Las Vegas back in November.  My brother and I had a blast in old Vegas, where this amazing technotronic show played on the giant screen overhead to the music of Heart.  Classic rock jam!  Here's Barracuda...
