This morning, about a 1/3 of the country weeps as another gloats, and yet the final third just doesn't care. The first month of this new year was a long and difficult one and it ended on the worst of notes, for sometime in the future, historians will point to the date January 31st, 2020, and declare that this was the day democracy died.
